Complex Dynamics in Therapeutic Work
This course examines the relational patterns shaping the internal world of clients who have experienced narcissistic and emotional abuse. It explores how trauma bonding, enmeshment, and role-based identities continue to influence a client’s sense of self, often manifesting as shame, dissociation, and the development of a false self. The course looks closely at the dynamics of the narcissistic family system, how these patterns appear in therapy, and how they can affect the therapeutic relationship. It also considers the cultural, social, and intersectional influences that shape a client’s experience of harm and their capacity to seek support. Finally, the course focuses on how to work safely and effectively with clients who remain in contact with abusive figures, supporting autonomy, emotional clarity, and steady progress in the therapeutic space.

Couples Work and Ethical Boundaries
Couples Work and Ethical Boundaries is a course designed to support practitioners in recognising when couples therapy may be unsafe or unsuitable, particularly where power imbalances or emotional harm are present. It explores how to identify manipulation, DARVO, charm tactics, and subtle shifts in control that can appear in the therapy room. The course examines the point at which neutrality becomes collusion and offers practical guidance on how to intervene with clarity and integrity. It also covers risk management, creating safety plans, understanding professional limits, and making appropriate referrals. Practitioners will learn how to navigate rupture, hold boundaries, and uphold ethical responsibility when working with complex relational dynamics.

Advanced Practice & Supervision
Advanced Practice and Supervision is a course that focuses on deepening clinical confidence when working with narcissistic and emotionally abusive dynamics in individuals, couples, and family systems. Using a detailed case study, the course examines high conflict relational patterns and supports practitioners in developing a robust supervision structure to contain the complexity of this work. It also addresses therapist wellbeing, including the impact of secondary trauma and the importance of sustainable reflective practice. Learners will work through either a video analysis or a written assessment of clinical responses, supporting the development of advanced therapeutic judgment. The course concludes with a reflective project designed to help each practitioner articulate their evolving therapeutic lens and professional identity.
